Rock the Boat!
Here at ISEA 2004 on the super cool Silja Opera ferry cruise! It’s a huge ship with 3 clubs, 2 jacuzzis, 2 saunas, casino, Wi-Fi access, too much food, and amazing scenery! Definitely a good way to break into the conference. Not to mention all of the installed projects on board and the 700+ media artists…. kinda insane, but fun! SYREN is a GPS installation on the top of the boat that tracks the route of the ship and plays sound samples based on the current location to a 16 speaker sound system on the upper decks! We sat up there a while and waited for the changes.. we heard ABBA played in morse code! Excellent! more from Tallin tomorrow!
